I am Abdelrahman Diaa (Abushousha), publicly known as Diaa Shousha — an engineer and researcher obsessed with the fusion of machine intelligence and planetary spatial observation.
My academic and research path bridges two renowned institutions: **Cairo University** (Geomatics, Surveying & Remote Sensing) in Egypt, and **Philipps-Universität Marburg** in Germany. This dual exposure provided me with both rigorous spatial mathematics and modern European computational environmental methodologies.
As Founder of VEXL Technologies, I build mission-critical spatial systems. In 2026, I led our research team in developing VEXL-DroughtWatch — an artificial intelligence-driven agricultural drought early warning engine. The system competed against universities and research institutions from over 60 countries at the Global Environment Solutions Challenge (GESC 2026 / ISCES) at Tongji University in Shanghai, China, organized under the auspices of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), winning the Global 3rd Prize (Third Prize).
Beyond building sovereign intelligence pipelines, I am on a personal mission to democratize advanced computational education. Through my YouTube channel, I have authored one of the most comprehensive Arabic curricula on Python, Machine Learning, and Spatial Data Science.
